LAUNCHING!
Meisner Technique Workshop
This intensive workshop explores and develops the fundamentals of the Meisner Technique, while systematically introducing more advanced elements.

The Meisner technique is an intense, fun, and ultimately liberating approach to acting as developed by the actor and master teacher, Sanford Meisner over the course of almost 50 years. From 1940 until his death in 1997 Meisner worked with many aspiring actors, as well as Hollywood film actors already established in their profession, who nonetheless came to ‘Sandy’ for his clarity, and his singular ability to hone an actor’s capacity to listen, and live truthfully under given imaginary circumstances.
Workshop will cover:
• Repetition.
• Point of view.
• Activities and doors.
• Imaginary circumstances.
• Scene work.
• Relationships and character development.
Price: R2700.00 — all inclusive.

Entry Requirements: Actors hungry to go deeply into the craft of acting.

Length: 6 Weeks / 2 x 3hr Session p/week.

Dates: 13th July – 20th August 2010

Days: Tues & Fri

Time: 6pm – 9pm

Small personalized classes.

Please note: ACT reserves the right to alter workshop structure according to size of class.
Coach: Nicol Ritchie
Nicol studied acting at the University of Western Sydney, Nepean and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Performance from Theatre Nepean in 1996. As an actor he has worked with a wide variety of esteemed international theatre directors and learned much about the craft from their contrasting techniques. Nicol studied Meisner in its pure form intensively for over two years in Sydney at the Actor’s Pulse, under the tutelage of Billy Millionis, who had himself studied under Sanford Meisner in New York. Aside from extensive experience in theatre (e.g. Hamlet and Season at Sarsaparilla), Nicol’s Australian television credits include White Collar Blue and Home and Away.
